I've blogged before, but the theme was pretty much restricted to subjects concerning food and food processing. I've said about as much as I can on the subject and don't expect to write much more in the future.

I obtained my Bachelor of Science and my Master of Science in Agricultural Sciences in the late sixties. My specialty was Food Science and I practiced in the industrial arena through employment with several major food companies followed by the teaching field (college level) and finally consulting for almost forty years. 

Although my specialty was Food Science, my basic training as a science major had a broad spectrum covering many different fields such as Physical and Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics and Agriculture Mechanics, Zoology, Microbiology, Botany, Plant and Soil Science, Mathematics, Economics along with more food specific courses such as Dairy Science, Nutrition, Food Processing and Food Safety. 

I say this because I write a lot of blogs concentrating on present day environmental science and I am trying to avoid immediate dismissal of my views by saying I am only a "Food expert" or worse yet a "chef". I consider that my six years of education in the hard sciences listed above plus my workplace experience qualifies me to read and understand the scientific literature that abounds both for and against the concept of global warming and related environmental sciences. As such, I venture out into the field and try to make sense of it all. 

That said, I've got a brain full of observations and ideas about what is happening in the world around me. Being 74 years of age, I've seen a lot of things come and go. I've also observed a lot of human nature, both the good and the bad kind. My own trials have given me a certain perspective on life and I kind of feel like writing about it. Albeit- a new blog by Cliff!

I hope some of this is meaningful to anyone who chooses to read my stuff.
